My “Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life” that I did for English before I left CHS in January.
My teacher’s favorite entries were ‘Aeropostale’, ‘Despicable Me 2’, ‘Jelly’, and ‘Singing’.
Here they are…
*Aeropostale: When I was in the seventh grade, I’d see every “rich” kid or “popular” girl wearing a shirt, hoodie, sweater, swim suit or sweat pants with the same logo written on it somewhere. Aero. Aeropostale. 1987. Yet, I’d still envy their fashion for it. That store basically defined your whole reputation in junior high, and now I want to set it on fire.
*Despicable Me 2: This is one of my most favorite movies that isn’t a horror film. My boyfriend took me to see this movie for our very first real date together. In the movie, Gru marries Lucy after 147 dates, and therefore Colter and I count our dates and we plan on having 147 before we finally get married in 2015. This movie brings me wonderful memories.
*Jelly: Did you know if you eat two Reese’s Pieces and a Skittle it tastes like peanut butter and jelly? It’s so amazing.
*Singing: Oddly enough, one of my most treasured memories with my boyfriend would have to be from last week, October 17th, 2013, when I was in the hospital for diabetic ketoacidosis. I didn’t even know that he was coming. He had talked to my mom over Facebook and then just appeared in my hospital room doorway when I woke up from my nap. I was so happy. My mom left us alone to talk, and he lied in my tiny hospital bed with me and sang to me. I love it when he sings to me. He’ll never believe that he has the voice of an angel, but he does. He sings to me over the phone when I’m tired or sick, and he sings his country music extra loud when I’m in the car, and he sings to me when I’m grumpy because he knows it’s one of the two ways to make me smile again. I just love when he sings to me, even if he thinks he sucks.
